Pros +
- Wonderful respectful staff, fabulous room and hotel is very close to the towns amenities.we were withing walking distance of the the town, the castle and the music museum.
- Location, amenities, benefits, free hours everything was excellent
- We booked a standard queen and were pleasantly surprised by the room’s spaciousness and layout—the photos do not do it justice and make it seem darker than it is. The location was ideal for us, an easy maximum 15 minute walk through an interesting area and close to several sites and many restaurants. The room was extremely clean and the beds comfortable. There is clear attention to detail. Although there was some construction next door, there was no noise. The happy hour with free drinks and the later complimentary light meal was a bonus. What made the hotel special was the staff, from reception to cleaners. Everyone was so polite and helpful. They were able to answer any questions, explain clearly, and their command of English more than made up for my inadequate Japanese. They made a very good experience an excellent one.
Cons -
- No, everything was perfect. Wish we could have stayed longer but we were on a travel schedule
- The staff was not friendly at all! Maybe because is older people? Or maybe they were having a bad day
- This is only a design quibble. While understanding the fashion for dark ceilings, they do make the room darker than I find necessary.

The room was really clean, and the staff were warm and accommodating. The facilities were also convenient and well-maintained.
amenities were great, free food at night and staff were very kind.
the window view was just a wall but that didn’t really matter since the curtain stayed closed.
Friendly staff, generous amenities, unreal happy hour (free drinks 5-7). Lovely room and great location. Absolutely recommend.
This is my third visit to HOTEL SUI HAMAMATSU by ABEST. I am always impressed with the staff response and help. The room was comfortable and the small extras the Hotel provides make the difference
The staff were friendly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast provided here, the ochazuke had a nice spread of toppings. They also had a onigiri night snack service. Good variety of amenities provided in the lobby.
The room was a bit small typical for business hotels. I had only one suitcase so it didn't pose a problem. Bit of a walk from Hamamatsu station if that's an issue.
Staff were so friendly and pretty good English. The room was great. The bar had free beer and wine every evening during their happy hour.
The staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast with Ochazuke was really tasty.
The room was on the smaller side and the bathroom wasn’t as modern as other places we stayed in.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel SUI Hamamatsu. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was large; the guest laundry easily accessible and wow, free happy hour drinks each evening. The train station, central bus station and restaurants are all within walking distance.Great value for money.
Restaurant nearby. Very clean. Awesome breakfast. Very nice staff. I drive and parking tower next door.
Very good location close to main station and restaurant quarter. Staff was very lovely, helpful and heartwarming friendly. There’s a broad variety of amenities including even hair wax and face masks (we had a beauty night together with our kids though!). Breakfast was fantastic! Very good choice of Japanese specialties including rice, miso, tsukemono, karaage, fried fish, salad and other vegetables with a variety of dressings and the local eel with Teriyaki sauce - so delicious!!! But there are also “Western” things on the buffet like scrambled eggs and sausages. And - for those who only want a couple of drinks and a quick bite in the evening: there is even a Happy Hour with beer, Highballs and Softdrinks and Onigiri, also with the local eel.
The only two things we have to criticise are the lack of real options to make the rooms dark (there are curtains but they are not really dark) and the lack of noise reducing windows. There must be a hospital or a fire ward close by, as we heard the ambulances driving by the whole night. Please work on that and the stay will be perfect!
The hotel isn't too far away from Hamamatsu station and close to or rather in the main area. The room was clean and had all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay, the bed was comfortable too. There's an amenity bar where you can take stuff like face wash, razors etc., which was really nice. The staff was friendly.
The breakfast buffet was good but the room it was in was kind of small, so you couldn't really walk if there were some other people.
excellent value, very good breakfast, clean room
room a bit small
Convenient location, spacious room with nice buffet breakfast
The staff is wonderful, especially the breakfast crew; kindness and attention is a must with them. The hotel is very new, everything looks nice. You have everything you need at your hand: near the station and the central area with restaurants and so on...
The room could be a little bigger, but it's a detail. I stayed for a whole month, so after a while you get used to it and feel comfortable as if it were a suite. :)
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast spread is one of the best that we had experienced too. Location is great. Amenities are provided for.
One of the rooms facing the road was extremely noisy (poorly sound proofed). We could hear the traffic light sounds throughout the entire day. Rooms could be more well lit. The other room had a big problem with a smelly odor coming out from the bathroom drainage that we couldn't get rid of. We could only park our car in the multistory carpark next door which was full most of the time, and have to waste some time waiting at the entrance of the carpark for other cars to exit before we could enter. Breakfast variety is exactly the same over all 3 days, which can get unexciting quickly if you were to stay for long.
Very good loccation, clean, good service, good breakfast.
A lot of noise comming from the road
